Default Ryobi 30cc is equivalent to old 31cc?

Hello all

Ordering on line a Ryobi 31cc i received the new 30cc version with side exhaust and carb.

How does this engine compares to the 31cc version with rear exhaust and carb

Please any experience would help to decide if i return this and keep looking for a 31cc or if its worth to convert this new version.

Best Regards
Victor (Oddy)

Most of the side carb and exhaust "Ryobi's" I have seen are actually Homelite 30cc engines. If that is indeed what it actually is, it is stronger and potentially more powerful than a Ryobi.

Keep the Ryobi 30cc.You're getting a better deal than the older 31cc.That newer version is a four port 30cc engine and it is actually made by Homelite. Homelite parts will fit it and it can be modded to give more power and rpm.I have one converted to a water cooled boat engine and I love it .I've had Zenoahs and Sikks, but this engine is more reliable than those. It's not as fast as they are ,but fast enough for me ,a non racer.
