I'm thinking of getting my Moki 180 converted to gas. I've seen some information but it's old...as in checkout this person or that company. Either the person or company isn't around or difficult to get a hold of.
Who can do the conversion? Is it that difficult? I've heard that it's simple and I've heard that the crank needs machining.

The conversion also will set you back a fair amount, and you'll end up with a single converted engine. A little bit extra money spent, and you will have two perfect engines.

I was thinking of doing the same to my moki-even if its life was shortened. I will never run it on glow again.. What I wan't to know is if the rod off of the gas one will fit on the glow motor. Would be nice to buy a rod ready to go as to have to make my own..

If the glow crank pin is 9.00mm diameter it will fit. However, the crankshaft alloy and hardness of the gas engine is different. The glow crankshaft has no key or keyway. Also, If your engine has run on glow, the crank pin will not match the needle bearing any more, and big-end needle bearing life will be quite short.
You will need a gas engine crank, prop drive, connecting rod, new head, ignition + spark plug.
