Default Carb Insulator

Argghhhh. Itried to move my post over from the old site.............. nadda. So retyped it again ............ illegal operation Here goes again. I made a carb spacer from plastic or nylon cutting board. Will it hold up or melt. It is for that 40cc efco I mentioned in another post. If not any suggestions a guy could use from local material?. It has to be 3/8 thick to imbead some bolt heads.
Thanks Peter

I can't comment on the material you have since I have no experience with it. However what i use is 1/8" Al bonded to 1/4" plywood with epoxy. The Al provices adequate holding for the carb mounting serews and you can counter sink the ply to mount the unit to the cylinder. The Al gives the nessary strength and the plywood is an adequate heat dam.
