I think you're asking for a "crankcase". Short block in 2-cycle engine terms usually means the entire engine assembly (crankcase, cyl, piston, conrod, crankshaft, bearings), with no plug, muffler, carb, or ignition parts hanging off it.

To get a 30 cc, I ordered a short block from the local Homelite dealer. It was $67 5 years ago. I don't see why you couldn't get a bare block?

Enjoy,

Jim

Thanks guys I guess it makes more sense to just by a new engine being that it is so cheap. My problem is that I bought a 25cc homie from a local small engine shop, it was used and I only paid $10 for it. It turned out to be a dud it runs but the housing is cracked and leaking crank case pressure which is precious in a 2 stroke motor. I took it apart and the piston and cylinder and bearings looks real good so I wondered if I could just get another cylinder housing for it but I guess if it is going to run too much it would make sense to start over and use the rest for parts.

If you still want just the crank housing I can supply that for a small sum plus shipping. I have been selling weedy engines on eBay for some time now and have lots of usable spare pieces. (farley9n on eBay) or ([email protected]) Let me know.......Thanks...Bob
