Hello all,
I have a couple of questions about my Kioritz 21cc engine. Hopefully you can help me. Here goes:
1) What size and thread is the shaft? Is it metric? I am going to have to come up with a prop hub as well and this info will be priceless.
2) My engine has the pressure pulse hole offset in comparison to other conversions I have dealt with. The spacer between the carb and engine has a channel that the pressure runs along before going to the carb. This channel does cover a "normal" pulse hole on Walbro carbs. If I made a new gasket that has the pulse hole over this channel and in line with "normal" placement on Walbro carbs, will it work? I want to put a larger carb on it, but don't want to have to hunt one down with the offset pulse hole.
Thanx,
Tom

My Feedback: (1)
on the little echo/kioritz engines it helps to turn the carb 180 deg. and reroute the pulse channel in the insulator block with a dremel. this puts the throttle arm on the bottom and points the needles to the rear where they are easier to adjust while running.
the crank thread on all my little echos are m8x1.25 but if yours is an older model it might be different...

Hi there,
I have measured the thread on mine and it was 8 * 1.5.
I am new to the GAS engines and needs some advise in this regard. I have two Kuritz engines, the one a 21.5 and the other 23 or 25, I do not know for sure yet. My problem is with the bigger engine. I got both the engines from a friend as is. The 21.5 is running as is and is not converted yet. The bigger one is already at a late stage of the conversion but I detect a rather huge play between the crankshaft and the crankcase. What I mean is if you look at the engine right into the shaft and push and pull on the shaft it has a very big play in and out, not between the shaft and the bearings. Now either my friend has the wrong parts together or he has left out same spacers somewhere.
I have checked the 21.5 cc and it has no spacers and no play. By the life of me I could not find a parts list to indicate if i need a spacer or not. Does these engines have a large paly like that or what? I would appreciate a answer on this.
Another question is: If I want to convert one of these two engines to glow fuel do I have to have the adapter for the glow plug, throw off the flywheel and use glow fuel instead of gasoline or is there more to it?
