Default John Deere /Echo 50cc ready to convert

I had it running and now it is stripped down. It should be 50cc. 50V model. It is a front carb rear exhaust setup. Should be nice for a warbird I would think. Tell me what you think.

I've got one of those saws also but had never thought of converting it, because of the front carburetor. But I am curious as to what is behind that inspection panel on the side of the cylinder, if you want to call it an inspection panel.

It is a formed aluminum insert. That is an intake port from the crankcase. Appears there is one opposite of it also.
