Default What kind of engines?

Is anyone familiar with Remington chainsaws? My dad gave me a couple of them for conversions. One is a 38cc and the other is a 57(?)cc. I havn't picked them up yet because he lives about 1000 miles from my home. I should have them in a week. I can't find anything on them online. Just curious what kind of engines they have.

I hope you have better luck than I did!! I also have a Remington and all I found out is they were made by Remington Arms
the gun people. They sold the saw part of the company to someone else and now they only make elec. saws. When I contacted the new co. they had no info on the gas saws. Good luck!!! Craig

Bennett Brothers "The smoke pump" guys still sell the 38cc model for $150.00. I have had the chance to run one before and it was strong. It does however weigh in at about 5lbs. I suppose that wouldn't hurt if you picked the proper plane for the engine. I can not remember the numbers it turned off the top of my head but they were slightly better than a new US41 being tested at the same time with the same props. Both engines were new.

I picked up the chainsaws Friday. As it turns out, I ended up with three of them. The first was a Remington Mighty mite 300 with a 2 ci., the second is a Remington with a 59 cc. This one has the SDC 33 Walbro carb (14.27 mm) Score!!
And the surprise saw is a 55cc John deere. This one has a HDB 9 with a 13.49 mm venturi. It has a Koritz engine. We'll see how they run when I get back home.
I'll keep things updated.
