Advancing the Timing on a Homie

Hello all,
Can I advance the timing of my Homie manually by removing the keyway on the crank and rotating the flywheel slightly and tightening down the prop nut? Will this hold the flywheel in place?
Secondly, which way wil I need to go to advance the timing? Another thing I am curious about is how much I can turn the flywheel to get more power.
I am not worried about kickback as I use an electric starter.
Any thoughts?

One of the suppliers makes an advance plate for the Homies, that allows you to remount the coil advanced. They did state rpm gains by advancing the stock ignition. Sorry, I can't remember who marketed that now.
The keyway really only properly locates the flywheel, and has nothing to do with holding the flywheel on. You can take the key out and mount the flywheel, but I would smear a thin layer of loctite on the crank mating surface. If you do so however, you might need a little heat from a propane torch to get the flywheel off later.

Sheared the cast-in key on one flywheel and decided that I would like a better mating of the surfaces so lapped the taper area with some valve grinding compound. Hasn't slipped yet.
You might want to make some reference index marks on case and flywheel for TDC before pulling key.
Looking from the front of flywheel, rotating the flywheel CCW should advance the timing.
Set this one at 28 degrees w/ CH Ign. One tank ran still working on carb settings..

Ditto to what Mikenlapaz said.
I race Open 4-cycle gocarts.... (stock 10 hourse tecumseh tiller motors turning close to 35 HP!) We lap the flywheels to get the timing were after... works great! I would caution using the loctite method... as av8tor1977 stated it is VERY difficult to get the flywheel back off without damaging the crank.
