From: La Crosse, WI,
A (long) while ago I seem to remember a thread on the poulan 42cc engine. I did a search and came up with nothing. Anyone have any experience with these engines? Seems like I remember that either the carb or the magneto was mounted to the saw case. I see a lot of them for sale on Ebay for less than the 46cc model. Any input would be appreciated.

Ed,
The 42cc is a strong running engine, I have converted many of them. The magneto is mounted in the saw case so an electronic ignition system is a must. I am running a menz 20 x 7 prop and getting 7000 Rpm and 23lbs thrust on my conversions.
