A Homelite 25 turns my 18-6 test prop 8400.
My G26 turns 9000
a spring scale on the 26 powered plane shows 17 1/2 lbs
the homelite would be about 15...at 8400

Ralph, Do you think a 17-6 APC will be OK on a stock 25 homie? It is turning a 18-8 MA at 7400. My problem was landinging speed too fast. Need to slow down my Laxy Ace for landing. It wanted to baloon. Glad to see you on line. Big Al.

Thanks for the reply just wanted to get a ball park as to what to expect. I got a fish scale but not sure how accurate it is or how to be accurate when checking. The homelite you tested was it modified in anyway and what carb were you using?.

I made a new backplate mount that came within .030 of the conrod, milled the crankcase about .050 for more compression, and had to take about .050 off the piston crown at a slight angle to keep the piston from hitting the top of the cylinder...I used a WA 125 carb from an old G23..Tried a larger one, got no gain....

cool man I tested mine and got 13lb of thrust with a 18-8 top flite power point prop. I am unaware of the rpm but judging from sound it is about 7000. I tach it with a 17-8 prop and got 7800 rpm. Like I said before not sure just how accurate my fish scale is. I just recently aquired a 32 cc mac with no carb any idea what carb is best used on those motors and where can I get them with the carb insulator .
