I think I'd deal with DDM in the future if this engine works out. They have all the parts for the Sikk motors listed on their webpage. Unfortunately, they don't let you delete the engine covers and muffler on their order page, so their price ends up being about $40 higher than Hookupz. Maybe they'd do that on a special request...
Anyone know where to get a stock G23/G26 propshaft?

We'd be happy to remove those parts if you don't need them. Just call to ask

Got the hub and ign board from you Ralph - thanks. I also got a muffler from Wacker engines.
The Sikk engine conversion is kinda on the back burner because of other projects. I have all the parts now though - just need to machine the rear case half and put it all together.
Thanks for the info Ryan - I will definitely deal with DDM in the future if I buy any more of these engines

The one I have looks exactly like a G260RC motor. I'd post a picture, but its all in pieces on my workbench at the moment [sm=spinnyeyes.gif]

Hi guys I have been reading these posts with interest! I have one of these engines, I got it as a complete strimmer (weed wacker)from the local hardware store for £60 or $110. The engine was rescued from its shackles and a prop driver turned on the lathe, fitted and so far it has flown in 2 trainer aircraft with great success. The main fault with it was the low compression but I cured that by removing the base gasket and using blue hylomar as a substitute it now produces a lot more power. The next mod is removing the flywheel mag. and fitting an ignition unit from a ZDZ engine which I have spare. If you are interested then I will let you know how that goes. I hope to have my own ignition unit for this engine when I get round to building one but that will have to wait.

Regards John.

ryan@ddm,

What is the compression ratio of the bb352 long block? Is the bb356 higher?

These engines look like the way to go for a more powerful G26 replacement if they hold together.

bb352 is ~13:1; the headkit version is 14:1.

Just discovered another person has already done what I had in mind here. Sounds like you can get a Sikk 29cc converted for aircraft use with CH ign installed & ready to run. See [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=2270688]this message[/link]. The prop RPM's look pretty encouraging.
The entire flywheel housing has been milled off. This is exactly what I have done to my 27cc motor - right down to the standoffs and mounting plate. I'm using Ralph's ign and a Wacker muffler for initial testing. I also just ordered a 29cc engine from DDM, so I will be doing side-by-side testing of the two engines.
