i have the stock wt526 carb. i want o get as much power out of this engine as possible. should i find a different carb or are there any mods that give you a big boost in power.

What prop and RPM are you turning now?

i want to put it in a prop jet. i see that people are using a 18x8 so i guess some where around there.

wt526 carb has 7.94 mm venturi would look for replacement carb in 9-11 mm range.
FWIW: Walbro 167-A is 11.11 mm
Have you made any adjustment to reed stop to allow reed to open further? I adjusted mine to allow 1/8" allen wrench to slip between stop and reed.
