Default Homie 25-30CC exhaust port mod?

Hiya Folks. After chopping 2 two crankcases down, I was looking at the jug. I noticed an extra little exhaust port just above the main one. Anyone know what it's for? After I get these puppys back together, I'll run them with this little port plugged. I would think having it open would shorten the power/exhaust stoke somewhat. Cheers.

The little hole above the exhaust port is an exhaust gas recirculation port. You plug this hole but do not penetrate into the cylinder wall with anything. That includes drill bit, tap, or set screw. When you do, it flakes some of the nickasil cylinder coating out and makes a mess. It's been a while but seems like yiu make it 10-32?

On a few engines, there is a compression release port above the intake port. It is threaded and can be plugged with a 1/8" pipe plug. The threads are already 1/8" npt.

Enjoy,

Jim
