Default INVERSED FLYWHEEL

Just curious, I've seen quite a few conversions where the flywheel looks like it was removed and put back on backwards. Anyone know for what purpose?

some engines have the flywheel made that way they are not turned backwards ,the taper deturmines which way it goes on .there are several engines made that way including the 25.4cc stihl.

Ken, I'm going to start calling you the MAN OF STIHL! By the way I just now took time to look at your website and it is top notch. You have quite a bit of high tech equipment in your shop. Anyone looking for help converting a small engine to rc needs to visit Lambertsrc.com

I recently received a poulan 33cc Chainsaw that is practically new. I plan to convert it for RC aircraft use. I've already looked a Wacker engines for a velocity stack, prop hub and mount. I also noticed that they sell a glow adapter that fits on these gas engines. Has anyone had any experience running glow fuel with these type motors? My coil is going to require a fabricated bracket to mount it because it was bolted to the saw's case rather than the head. I'm determined to make this motor work and and open to any advice. Still waiting to hear if wacker engines has a prop hub for me.

Chris

RCIGN1: Sounds like you got around to running that G38. What kind of prop and size? Did it turn faster than it did on gas? Thanks Capt,n
