Zenoah 38 Seals
Hello all,
Is there anywhere besides Horizon Hobbies to acquire seals for my G-38? Horizon has them backordered with expected delivery at the end of March. I just don't want to wait that long!
I know this is not a conversion topic, but I know where to the good information regarding gas engines in general! Also, since I too am a conversion nut, I thought my Zenoah question wouldn't ruffle any feathers. LOL
Thanx,
Tom

RE: Zenoah 38 Seals
Nothing different or exotic about g38 seals, they're just standard seals available at any good bearing supply...there are three numbers on the seal, ID, OD, and width..the numbers are in millimeters, rear is 12, 22, 7, the front is 12, ??, 7..I dont have the middle number for the front seal..
I have worked on Zenoahs for 18 years, have never seen a bad seal on a G38....
Only G38 seals I replaced were the ones I bent when taking the case apart..They usually stick in the bottom half..If you try to take the crank out the seals are stuck so tight they bend..The best way to get the seals loose is to stick an icepick alongside the OD of the seal down into the case and work it out that way...Been there..
don't get your hand behind the case, been there too

RE: Zenoah 38 Seals
Well, now you know what happen to my G-38 seals. I thought maybe I was just ham-fisted when I messed mine up! Glad to hear someone else has made a mistake in this regard too. I only feel about half as stupid now!!!! LOL
Thank you,
I will check some local bearing supply houses,
Tom
