1/3 scale RV-4 and Poulan 46cc
Hello all,
I have just ordered the plans for Hal deBolts 1/3 scale RV-4 from Model Airplane News and was thinking of using a Poulan 46 cc conversion in it. The wing span is 92 inches with 1768 square inches of wing area. The plans call for engine size of 1.8 ci +.. Comments?

I have the same deBolts RV-4 plans. I bought it originally as a possible candidate for conversion gassers. The construction uses a lot of shaping of foam blocks. 'Hope you have a good shop vac handy.

Thanks for the input. I forgot to mention that I may also consider using a Ryobi 31cc conversion if it would be large enough to power this plane. I dont plan on wild aerobatics, but would like to do the manuvers that the full size RV is capable of...loops, rolls, etc... Would the Ryobi with a 16x8 or 18x8 fly this plane well? I dont know the advertised weight of the plane, just the above info from the plans order.
