You guys helped me out with some info once so I thought I would pass this down the line. The ryobi 31cc Can handle a smallish shot of nitrous. It comes on hard and the change in RMP is dramatic. I dont know if this is any use to you guys but it sure helped me out on my lil project.

Well, I somewhat expected it to grenade also but so far so good..The motor has prolly upward 500 pitchers of mixed drinks (and about 8 tanks of nitrous) on it over about two years now. I have only recently started using nitrous just for the loonacy factor (since the flame throwing pipes are still being developed) of the whole thing. Its a riot trying to get someone to belive me when I tell them I have a gas powerd nitrous injected blender. This sucker fires on the first pull, loud as sin and when the girlys hear it fire up they come runnin for the free drinks I just cant help from passing out.
I decided since the motor was getting old why not just go ahead and try it..I do expect it to happen sometime and have since begun dialing down the shot and duration of it. If it goes it goes..Hopefully it will be in front of a big crowd and will pop real loud, set on fire and still be able to save the margaritas...
Since we are on the subject..What is the weak points in the internals of the lil ryobi motors??.Think I could specificly build a slightly lower compression motor with peened rods or something..I wouldnt put it out of range. I love these little motors and would darn near jump thru hoops to go to the lenghts of bullitproofing one of these lil suckers..Does anyone sell new pistons and what not for them? I suspect it would be cheaper to just get another re-man unit when it finally does let go
One last thing, anyone ever run that fruit smell gas additive in a ryobi?

Nope, no gearbox. It seems to spin as fast if not faster than a normal blender. Maybe its in my head but the drinks always seem to turn out better than a conventional blender.
I just finished some upgrades on mine and built two others for sale over memorial day weekend. I dont know if they will sell or not but, I am having a photographer friend of mine shoot some pics of the three of them before I go. Ill post some pics and review of how everything turns out.
Again, thanks to everyone on the board that helped me out with this mess. I couldnt have done this without ya'lls help.

Well, part of this project has been trying to document how to build these suckers. I am in the works of putting together a DIY manual that im going to try and sell off my web site. www.blenderbrothers.com (soon to be revamped in less than two days). With the amount of people who have advised me to patent my designs and cover my butt, I am still tied up with getting all that done. So, I am somewhat hesitant about releasing too much information about certain key componants that I spent alot of time and money on. I assume as soon as I gets rolling on the site and see what the reation is to the conversion manual I will feel more comfortable about realeasing some more of the information. Im not going to get rich doing this but if I can make back some of my intial outlay it would be nice.

LOL..ohhh yea, as for the topless pics...This year Im going loaded with a couple of extra bills in my wallet right next to a model release form so I can legaly use and pics I take on my web site. Right now, I have no such consent. I doubt I can post them here so, you may want to check the website in a few weeks.

Definitely an interesting idea, maybe someday every household will have one. Don't forget to tell us how the flaming exhaust goes.

the coil on the ryobi has a rev limiter thats set at 9500 rpm. you can change it out with a 25 or 30cc homelight coils which isnt limited at all. you might want to also consider a scatter shield around spinning parts.... party moods are quickly spoiled by having to pick shrapnel from your friends...

if you could build a DIY setup you could buy and install on a HomeLite 25 or 30cc motor, I would definately buy one if they're at a good price -- I don't think many on this website would be too interested in blenders
. I for one, would benefit from the added power -- as long as longivety wouldn't be affected too much. If you could make a kit which could mount on pretty much any small engine, and sell that, I think it would do well -- and offer the margarita setup as a separate part.

Well, I finally had something break. After several hundred runs part of the pull start melted. I think the recoil spring jumped and it threw everything out of whack. It is fixable if I can find a replacement top plasic piece pull start unit. I know alot of you ryobi flyin guys dont use alot of the plastics and pull starts. Would anyone have one they would like to sell, trade, donate? Please let me know, I really would like to salvage this. It seems silly to let it die this way.
Thanks..
Thanks..
