Default Ryobi kill switch

I wasnt paying enough attention when I took the two edgers apart. I have two motors that have a coil with two spade connectors and a switch. Fine, I got that but, I have one oddball. The coil only has one spade connector and the wire looks like it goes straight to a ground. Did I lose a wire and switch? Im guessing I need to go find a new rocker switch, are they toggle off or toggle on? Thanks for any help.

When the spade is connected to the engine crankcase, -- The spark don't work no more... How's that for a double negative?

You need a good quality switch because of all the vibration. However the switches usually fail open, but that means you cannot cut the engine off with the switch.

Enjoy,

Jim
