Does anyone know who makes the engines in craftsman chainsaws? The one in question is a 33 cc chainsaw. I can get factory reconditioned ones for $60. Has anyone converted any of these? Do they make good power?
Thanks,
David

I did a 42cc Craftsman. They are Poulan powered. Lots of power for a $70.00 motor. We have it in a Sig Extra 300 my son fly's and it turns 8150 with an 18/8 MA prop. I am interested in a smaller one like you are looking at. Email me if you will sell me one.

I will be putting it on a SPAD. 7-8 ft wing span with a PVC fence post fuse. Probably weigh in at around 15 lbs. Not built yet. Finished tweaking the motor yesterday and it runs great on cool power 5% with an APC-18-10. Top end is 7800 with a good idle. I had to mod the carb(WT-324) a little to flow better and gut the stock exhaust out. Awesome motor! Will probably end up putting a 20-8 on it in the plane.
Forgot to mention it is in my thread "Gas to Glow progress" in here. A couple blurry pics of my set-up. I need to take some pics of it running.
