Default Is this repairable?

This is a 32cc motor from a Weed Eater Blower. Is this repairable? If so, is this motor worth it? It was free. I am new to trying to use these engines on airplanes. I want to build a large slow flying spad. Any input is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

S

I wouldn't bother. You can usually pick these engines up for less than $75. I've seen them for $50 reconditioned. Look at Big Lots sales, and places like Harbor Freight. You can buy the whole weedeater and strip off the engine.

I have been looking at websites on conversions. Most people use Ryobi. I'll check the local stores. I have both Big-Lots and Harbor Freight here close.

Thanks for the input.

i have two homelites one i bought from ebay for 22.50 with shipping and the other i received from my father in law because he didnt have the trimmer head for it anymore. cheap enough to not worry about trying to fix that one. that looks pretty bad.

I own a tig welder(it can weld ally) I would chuck that one. Do a homelite, there would be less cutting than that engine as well.

Thanks for all the responses. I am throwing this one out and starting over. I just remembered my wife's grandfather gets these things all the time. Weed eaters, blowers, chainsaws, etc.... He scraps them out. I'll bet he still has some complete units that I can inspect and find a decent one. If not, I'll get a refurb from somewhere.

Thanks again

Most of the engine blocks from the weedies and chainsaws you cannot weld, I have tried it, and it looks good, untill you tap on it, then what ever you welded onto it falls off, LOL. Get another one. SS
