Default Fired up my Echo 23.6cc today!

I finally got a chance to make a test stand and tach my little Echo Kioritz today!
Still all stock for now but I was supprised. It turned a 16x8 APC at 7000 rpm then
I took the little deflector plate and spark suppressor screen off the muffler and it
turned 7800 rpm all with my Tower Hobbies digital mini tach. I don't know how
accurate it is but it seemed pretty consistant. I have a larger carb to try and I am
going to experiment with some different muffler designs. I will post #'s when I do.

That's one nice looking helper.... She seems so thrilled also....

The 23.6 is one of the best engines of all time for its size.

Enjoy,

Jim

Thanks, w8ye

She is my little co-pilot, likes planes and likes to help.
I plan on putting the Echo on a Funtana .90 if I can get enough power out of it.

Well I tried another carb tonight It was a WT312 of a non running Mac weedie I had given to me free in a bucket. It has a bigger throat than the original carb but I couldn't get any more than 6500 rpm I tried adjusting both the high and low needles but it just wouldn't rev out. At least I got a free bucket! I'll have to try a different carb.

The WT 312 has a number 24 stamped in the venturi. Look for a Walbro carb with a 28 number in the inlet.

A free flow exhaust helps a lot also.

Enjoy,

Jim

Thanks w8ye,
The one with the 28 stamped in it is what I am looking for I just had the WT 312 laying around
so I thought I would give it a try. Do you know what the model #'s are of the carbs with the 28
stamped in them.

Thanks,
Pete

Hi,
Here is the web site with a big of carb with sizes. The #24 9.5mm carb will work great on your engine. The #28 11.11mm will take advantage of a ported engine for higher RPM.

Enjoy, Dave

Thanks Dave,
I plan to do some internal mods so I will look for one of the 11.11mm carbs.
Thanks for the reference, I went to a couple repair shops today but didn't have any luck.
I will keep looking or order one online.

Thanks again,
Pete

Dave,
I was just looking at those and I did not see any of the ones that were on the list you posted as being the 11.11mm size. Though I might have missed it as he has quite a few on there.

Hi,
The poulan wt-324 is 11.11mm and he has many others which are 11.11mm. Just ask the critical question.
