Default Echo 23.6cc Conversion

I have an Echo 23.6 (Kioritz #SRM-2400) in excellent condition that I am converting. The "stock" coil and flywheel are missing and I wonder if anyone has a usable unit for sale? Has anyone had success in converting this engine using the stock ignition setup?

Thanks,
Mike

I think you will fine that the flywheel and coil off the 21 cc Echo will interchange nicely. Lots of good info in 'Don't forget Echo ' thread if you havent' found it yet.

Red Baron Mike,

I am working on a 23.6 now slowly doing some mods to it trying to get some more power out of it. The thread that mikenlapaz mentioned does have alot of good info in it. There are some post from a guy named Keith user name BME he is the one that makes BME engines and I gues some of their engines are based from the Echo's (Kioritz). When I get time I will be doing some of those mods. With an electronic ignition he has them turning 8500 rpm with a 17-8 APC prop.
Let us know how you make out with yours.

I have one that turns a 16 x 8 prop at around 9000. Great engine. Powerful and light. Can't go wrong...

AV8TOR;

What type of ignition are you running? Are you hand starting the engine?

Hi,

I normally run CH Ignitions electronic ignitions on my motors, but in this case I converted it to glow and am using 50% gasoline and 50% E-85 Ethanol with Pennzoil for Air Cooled Motors. Hand starts easily.
