Default Another spring starter question Poulan 55cc

Now that I have a source for chainsaw engine sizes, I gotta figure how to start the thing. From what I've read, the 46cc Poulan will use the Bennett Us41 spring starter.

If I go with the 55cc Poulan, has anyone figured out what kind of spring starter would work with it?

Also, are these engines converted with the stock carb, or is a better carb perferred for real horsepower?

Thanks so much!

The stock carb should be fine as long as it has two needles. A chain saw generally has a good carb.

Hi 100,
If the 46cc and the 55cc take the same clutch, they will take the same spring starter. You just need a place to screw down the end of the spring.
