Default building on a budget-best bang for the buck

Good evening you finest folks out there.
I have a question.
I want to build a gas/glow trainer for our club to train a young pilots who just gets in the hobby.I think i will go with something as simple as spad with maybe flat bottom foam wings or such. I want it to be a big plane so it will be easily seen @ 3-5 mistakes high. Therefore i will have to use a gas motor.I looked in to conversions a couple years back(for my own plane) but then i had other priorities in my life. Now i am back to conversions and i want to build one as cheap as possible.I already have a weedeater i will donate towards the project .
I wanted to ask you guys who's out there doing a best deal on the adapter and velocity stack?I want to use a glow+gas mix so i won't have to have an EI.Please advice on where to go for the best bang for the buck

Thankfull Mitty

Simple...a engine that will run on a glow/gas mix. Or you could have a twin puller pusher plane with a glow and a gas engine. If one quits the oher engine will get you back to the field. HA!!!!!

Mitty, If you are not familar with spadword and their Biguns (Large Scale Spads) check them out.
http://spadworld.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9321 is a trainer with Echo power. Mine flys like a trainer at 12#. with a CH Ign.

For my glow gas engine experiments, CH Ign http://www.ch-ignitions.com/ supplied the glow adapter. Discovered upon reciept that they did not fit properly in the heads; No problems with CH service; they had some replacements Express / Priority Delivered to friends who hand delivered South of Border. Super service as usual. THANKS.

I tried to make som plug adapter with only limited sucess, the wall thickness is thin. Clearance is minimal. Not worth the time for me to try an make more.
