Flyjoe, it came out of a Stihl 23.6CC Thanks for that info Scott, 8400 rpm should move my plane real good. I am building a home made plane for this engine, foam and carbon fiber, hope to bring it in at 10# complete weight. The wing is 1300 sq.in. the wing ribs are one inch. wide foam, the spars are 3/8 balsa with carbon fiber. the plane is also being build for low drag.

If you can keep the weight to around 10lbs. It will have unlimited vertical with a 17x6 prop. It should fly the plane very well. Be sure to send me a pic of it when it is done. I would like ot see it.

Hey new guy here, this is the first time i've actually posted anything in here although i've been around all types of 2 stroke engines all my life, (46 now)... my quetion's are these, the lil stihl in the photos? what kind of horse pressure would you say it'd make @ 8,000 - 8,500rpm? what would be the "safe" limit? and is there anything that would be considered comparable, like ryobi, zenoh, ect. ect.? and finally, would that engine benefit from a tuned pipe/ and or port massage? the reason i ask all this nonsense i because i am embarking on a journey into the uncharted realm of a land speed record for a single cylinder 2 cycle, be it glow or gasser. i've used stihl saws almost exclusivley because they have that pop zing rip snork i like in any engine. but i've never had the pleasure of wackin any weeds with one, oh, and even if i could chase one down, who makes the EI for it? i've asked enough dumb questions for one evening, any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks guys! i really enjoy reading all that you post, the good and the not so good, its all information to me...
