Default Snapper 42cc chainsaw

Anybody knows who makes the engine in these saws? Is it a Poulan 42? I have one saw laying around here and I thought I would ask if anybody converted one of these, before I start hacking at it.
Thanks.

Hi,
I think that you are right about Snapper saws, being Poulan's. Here is a link talking all about this. Should be a good conversion. You may need to go with a EI ignition, if the coil isn't attached to the cylinder.
