Default Briggs&Stratton 40cc

I found this reconditioned Craftsman weedeater with the B&S 40cc for $117. Is it a good buy? Is it worth messing with it for a Sig Rascal 110? Any of you have experience with this engine? Thanks.

CiprianGugu,
Somebody is flying a 34cc on a giant ugly stick. The extra displacement can only help offset the weight. The one Brillelle converted weighs about six pounds. The 40cc may be slightly lighter, due to a bigger bore in the same casting.

I've got a 40cc converted and running on the test stand. I'm still playing around with it and am waiting for some props and other parts so I can get my 34cc up and going and compare the two. So far I have tried running a 20x 6 and a 20x8 on the 40cc. If you want to 3-D flying, these aren't the engines to get. For WWI scale types, however, I think they hold promise. Right now I've invested @ $240 ( including prop hubs and flywheel machining) for BOTH engines, so it's worth a shot IMHO.

J,

No 3d for me, looking for scale flight. I did not get it, since I don't have a plane suitable for it either, and by the time I decide on a plane, maybe another engine more powerful will be available. Thanks.
