I just bought a reconditioned Weedeater leaf blower that I'm going to covert. When I started taking it apart I noticed that the pull cord turned it in the wrong direction. I've already put a prop on it and started it, so I know it will run opposite to the direction intended. My question is, how will the timing be affected? Wouldn't it normally fire slightly before TDC. If it runs backward, won't it be firing after TDC? If so, won't it lose performance?

I have a bunch of those they won't run with the mags that they came with trying to find what will fit to make it turn counter clock wise
maybe a mag from a homie might fit? good luck Erik

It runs and idles ok and the throttle response is pretty good. The largest prop I had lying around was a 14x6, so I don't know what kind of performance I'm going to get out of it with the right size prop, (16x8, 16x10)
I think these Poulan 25cc engines are a pretty common conversion, but I'm wondering if the leaf blowers turn in a different direction than the trimmers?
