Default BALANCE SCALES

I got a tripple beam balance scale now. No directions and have a /some questions. I have some photos. Notice the sliding black weight on back of beam. If slid to the right...I can weigh more weight. What I do not know then is how to calculate the weight. There seams to be no marks on that beam it slides on? This is all new to me. If anyone can point me in the right direction....please do. thanks Capt,n

That sliding weight is to balance the scale when there's a tare weight on it. For example: you want to know the weight of all your servos, RX, battery pack, switch harnes, and servo extensions. You use a small box to hold all that stuff, but you don't want to weigh the box itself. Move all the sliders to the left and zero the scale. Place the empty box in the scale. Slide the large weight to the right until the scale rebalances itself. Now you can weigh all those little parts without weighing the box.

In the kitchen there will be some measuring instruments calibrated in ounces. I think one ounce of water weighs one ounce and it is an easy method to check a scale.
