Default h9 cap 232 engine selection

i have a 73 inch cap 232 hanger 9 older plane great shape have converted a 3.3 homelite for it have ready and mounted the plane tops scale at 13.4 lbs with ignition is it too heavy?

That gives it a wing loading of about 28 to 30 oz. per square foot. This is based on an average cord of 14 inches giving it 7.4 square feet area. Sounds good to me.

i think those planes sometimes maxed out at 14 pounds. make sure you will get enough thrust from the engine to pull it. this is a heavy plane to begin with. i always get told not to put a gasser on it when i talk about putting a homelite on it.

tuned pipe and a electronic ignition to get down weight and get power up. you need to take the plane with the engine on it and mount a fish scale to the tail and run the engine at full throttle to get a good idea of thrust. it may take some porting to get more power after that.

ok guys ive scratched the homelite 3.3 im holding it for my edge if my zdz goes out of it i need to get a general idea on an engine that could hover this and not so bulky and heavy i have a stihl 25 cc weed wacker engine that i could do i can always find something but i need a idea what to look for. thanks
