Default how to tighten prop hub?

Ive got a homelite 26cc that I purchased a prop hub from Ken Lambert. The hub is round with no flat spots on it to grib to tighten it up. Whats the best way to tighten this hub so I can try out my weedie conversion? Do you just get a big pair of channel locks and go at it or what? And how tight is tight on this so it wont come off?
Thank you in advance.
John

I bought a set of two strap wrenches from Sears to tighten them

Hi John. The easiest way to tighten down your new prop hub adapter is with a rubber strap wrench. They come in two different sizes and my preference is to use the smaller wrench usually. If you hold the engine by the flywheel while tightening it down,it'll grab pretty good. Before you do this though, make sure you degrease the crankshaft threads with lacquer thinner to remove any traces of oil or grease. This is important to clean both the threads on both the prop adapter and the crankshaft because you are going to apply a red Loctite compound to prevent this from accidentally loosening off once you tighten it down.If you have to remove it in the future for some reason, heating the area with a propane torch will aid in disassembly of the the two parts.Hope this helps to get you going in the right direction.

I use 1/4" cotton rope.

Put the piston at the bottom, fill the cylinder with rope through the spark plug and tighten the hub.
The piston compresses the rope and you can safely tighten or loosen what ever you need to.

This also works with flywheel nuts and such.
