Default 90* 77cc gasser

I know that most gas engines are strate up or strate down. I have a engine that im working on out of a saw. It is a 77cc and it is 5 lbs

The carb comes off the block but it is right at the botem of the block. strate in line with the jug. If I put this on my exstra 300 strate up then the jug will be ticking out the top of the cowl. If I put it state down the carb will stick out the top of the cowl. So If I put the engine off to the said, will that work? or will there be to much waight on the one side of the plane? I am looking in to makeing a new intake for the carb that mite keep the carb in the cawl but it looks like it mite be just to much work to do this.

Paul,
If you side mount the engine it will be OK. You should add somr lead the tip oppisite the cylinder. It won't take much to balance the plane. Just a small sinker or solder epoxied inside the tip. It will only take a small fraction of the weight of the cylinder. The idea of a elbow manifold will work, but many have found this to be difficult to get right. Post some pictures,if you can. What brand saw did it come out of?

I do not know what brand it is. It is a old engine. Very old. but the engine is not cast iron. It is alumanem (i cant spell it)

I have a long way to go befor this is redy to go.. I still have to come up with a way to make a hub for it.. that will be fun
