Is a Poulan 33 the same engine as a homelite 33? I was warming my homelite up this morning, and it ingested something through the carb that was a little tougher than it was[:@]. Ruined the piston and liner. Wal mart has poulan 33s for $110, and I'm wondering if my conversion parts will work on it, or is it a totally different engine?

the carb will bolt straight on if it is a walbro carb and manufold and in other cases it will require a small intake manufold mod.
the prop hub might also go on nice because i think that the flywheel thread is a standardised thing.

One could always just buy it and take it apart and look. If it did not you would have a nice chain saw. Some of the new units have the ign part mounted to the saw and not the engine. Spend your money and find out. Does Poulan have a site to look at a diagram of parts for this unit?
