What are you using as a muffler for your Homelite? Mine has a bennet muffler but it is so loud that it really isn't doing anything but diverting the exhaust. I need something quieter. I would even be happy with a muffler like the one that used to come with the US 41 (I think they called it a non directional muffler).

For now, try stuffing a little steel wool inside the muffler. That should take some of the blast out of it.

I wouldn't do that. I think you might run the risk of sucking in some of that steel wool, and it sure could adversely effect the
effectiveness of the rings.

What is normally used is the course metal scouring pad. These don't shed like steel wool. They usually come in copper or stainless.

I have used steel wool in a pinch in the past with no problems. Just pack some near the outlets. With a 2 stroke you don't have any suction back into the cylinder.

For several *conversion* related items check out

http://webpages.charter.net/rsengineconversions/

They have several options for homelight mufflers. They also have some great rticles and pictures to show what they are doing and WHAT they are flying. If you have any questions feel free to email me directly or drop a post here.

Happy Flying and remember WHEELS DOWN ON LANDING . . .

Thanks for the link to the RS engines site. I didn't see any muffler options other than the B & B. Did I miss it?
