muffler question

Default muffler question

hello everyone. i am building a muffler and am wondering do the bolts that hold my muffler to the engine have to be protected from the gases and heat or can they be exposed to all of this

yes, they can be exposed, the only reason most mufflers have internal tubes is because they support the structure of the muffler so it doesn't collapse...
