Has anyone used Klotz Nitroil in the Gas/Glow mixture to increase the nitro level? The spec sheet on their website says that it’s 78% Nitromethane and 22% synthetic oil. If you can’t get the 10/10 glow fuel, but have a source for straight methanol, it appears that you can take any glow fuel and add the proper amounts of straight methanol and Klotz Nitroil to obtain the 10/10 mix or 15/10 mix if you so desire. Right now, I’m adding 20/10 car fuel to my mix to get the mixture I desire. My local hobby shop refuses to order any 10/10 glow fuel, so I had to come up with alternatives. For those experienced with these mixtures, what are your thoughts?

All you can do is experiment with it. Watch out for detonation if you increase the nitro content of the mix. The reason we went to premium gasoline in the mix is that a few engines were encountering some detonation with the nitro in the percentage we are now using. The premium gas solved that. Some engines would be able to tolerate more nitro, some not. A good clue is to watch what an engine does when you disconnect the glow power. If it loses rpms, it most likely could benefit, or at least not be harmed, by more nitro in the mix.
It would probably be easiest/safest for people that can't get the 10/10 fuel to get 20/20 or 20/18 fuel that is more easily available, and then cut it 1 to 1 with pure methanol. This would actually lower the cost of operation even more. Methanol can usually be found through automotive speed shops, go kart racing shops, etc.
