Default Are there any conversions in the 80 to 90 CC range?

Hi guys, I'm new to this part of RCU, I've been building and flying jets exclusively for the past 6 years. A friend of mine owed me some money and found a whopper of a deal on a couple of 30% airplanes and bought one for me with the money he owed me [X(]

I was considering buying a ZDZ 80 for it and this morning I thought I would check in here to find out what kind of effort to make my own engine.

I do have access to a full CNC Machine Shop, so making any parts to make something work would not necessarily be a problem, I just don't know much about gas engines and thought you all might be able to point me in the right direction.

All the best,

Sean

Sachs makes a 5.8 CDI, Husky has a 6.0 and a 5.7 CDI. For one off just cut down the crankcase, way to much bother to make just one.

I have a Partner saw and a Target saw, 72 & 80cc as I recall. I did sell a Partner to Ralphbf on RCU here. He has some pictures on it here I think. I have also done a Husqvarna 72cc saw. Lite and powerful.

Hey Tim

I finally ran her for the 1st time yesterday.

The muffler I made seems to work pretty good.
I put about a half a gallon through it, ten to fifteen minutes at a time.
It weighed in at 4 pounds and 4 ounces.
It already spins an APC 22 x 10w like it's not even there.

A little hard to start the 1st time but it hand starts pretty easy now.
I'll set the Carb. and post the video soon.

The problem I have now is nothing I've seen runs like the Echo twin I just finnished.

Yea I like the way mine run too. I really want to start cutting on the big Target saw and see how lite I can get it before I spend time making parts for it. I think it will be pretty lite but we shall see.
