Hi,

Does anyone know what the HP of the 46cc Poulan is at some useful RPMs?

Thanks,

Gene

Gene Ive been getting 6800 on my 46 with a 20X10 Zinger. Using the thrust/hp calculator that should be 3.594 hp.
Your mileage may vary

Hi Adam,

I'm still in learning mode. Can you explain the thrust/hp calculator a bit?

Thanks for your help!

No Problem Gene; Go here and download the program.

Dont take the results as the final word, Its just a good guideline to play with on those rainy days.

I hate it when my stuff doesn't run like other folks' stuff. My 46cc turned a Mezjlik 18x8 @ 8500 today. At least it is equal my OS 160 in power. My 20x8 MA sq tip only turns 6400 with the gutted stock muffler. Seems the vibration wore something in the carb because the throttle is binding.

Tom I havent tried any different props yet but Ive had several different mufflers on mine doing some testing; mainly for sound reduction. All these are with the same 20X10. The stock muffler runs at 5800 rpm. Several different mufflers Ive tried vary between 6300 and 6600 and with a straight header it turns 6800/6900.

Your reading with the 18X8 is right there with anybodys Poulan Ive read about. I dont know why the MA would drop so much?? That prop may be a power hog.
