Default GX35 Conversion and preformance

Hi, this is my first post in this Forum, so I would like to say hello to everybody. (Sorry, if my english isn`t perfect)

My name is Frank, I live in germany and I´m interested in the GX35 engine. I´ve looked at the datasheet and the preformance of the engine compared to the weight isn`t really good. I think a good carb and exhaust would inrease the preformance a lot. Has anyone done something like that to this engine? Where can I find more information about a conversion of this engine? There aren`t much informations in german forums.

I think I wil build it with an electronic ignition, to keep the weight al low as possible.

I hope someone can help me.

Thanks alot, Frank

Search for the Honda GX31 forum and you will see what we have been doing to that engine. There is 35 information mixed in also.

Thanks. Ok, I will check out the GX31. It seems to be very similar.

I doubt that just by changing the carb and exhaust that you will get much of an increase in performance.I will be more than happy for you to prove me wrong, though.

A smog cam shaft with very low lift, low compression for smog controll. Its going to be hard make real power with these against it.

I talket to the distributor here and he told me that a well known engine expere in germany once tested the motr and got 300rpm more on a 20/10 Airsrew just by trying some different exhausts.

I don`t like the stock carb, because xou can`t really adjust it. So I thougt about a Walbro carb.
