Default Need Muffler Help

This engine came out of a 26.2 Craftsman weedwacker. Flypaper said it's a Poulan with Craftsmans name on it . My concern is how to construct a muffler for that round exhaust port. The original muffler was heavy metal and was attached with 2 springs. Can someone come up with a better muffler design and a better way to secure it?

I have 2 McColluch 32 converted weed whackers and the Abbel mufflers are held on by the original springs.

I have also been known to gut a stock steel mufflere and braze some 1/2" hydraulic tubing on it for outlets.

Kraker, your muffler is very typical of a muffler on a gas engine. It was nice of you to utilize the existing spring retainers too.

Good job,

Jim
