get voted the weedeater repair man among their friends?
so far I've had two come to me with them wanting me to fix them, turned out both had stuck rings, was able to get one unstuck and cleaned back up, haven't got it running again, it was too late tonight to try any harder. both are the type of people that would help me with anything if I needed it, so I don't mind, plus one just gave me a ~35cc Mac chainsaw, one of the front carb deals with roller bearings, I'll find something to do with the thing... it has like new compression, so it should be a good runner

Ive done a few.Just did one few weeks ago.My neighbor has a automobile window biz and we do favors for each other from time to time.I saw him pulling and pulling on his weedy and it would run then die.So i ask whats up.Says to me hes had 2 peolpe look at it and there not sure what it is.One has a small yard biz. This is one of those green machines or weedie brand that has the pump bulb mounted on the side of the housing.I pump it and theres air bubbles in the bulb.I go home and come back with a piece of tygon, the small line, put it between bulb and carb.Been running great ever since.Took me 30 seconds.

too many cooks spoil the brew
one that had the original problems and tried to solve it
the second, partly knowing the original problems, tried to solve it,
the third, knowing ??????, tried to solve what was left of it
RCU to the resque.
Get down to the basics, as if no other person has meddled with it.
1) does it spark?
1A) is case compression ok?
2) does it get fuel up into the cylinder? (tricky question)
3) is compression ok, so the fuel will ignite?
if all is yes, the engine will burp!!, and further investigation will center on :
1) continued fuel supply (pumping action, debris inside, tank fuel lines issues)
2) ignition firing sequence (ignition good, or bad)
3) ignition timing
If all of the above is OK, the engine will run, and can be tuned to best performance,

I know, I have the basics down, I just found it funny that I ended up working on other peoples stuff, it's been a long few months at work, little things amuse me sometimes
, plus was just curious if anyone else got voted the same thing within their group of friends...
just because I have nearly 30 weedie's/chainsaws, maybe that's where they got the impression I know a thing or two about these, me bringing in a converted one to work every month or so doesn't hurt...
