Glow to Spark ignition conversion

Hi All gang,
I have now 4 years experience on glow conversion to spark ignition with 2 and 4 stoke model engines (OS, SAITO single and twins, Super Tigre, and .... YAMADA (YS) engines) with 100 % success !
You can see videos here :
http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=5h-zZiKCwRk
http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=Ay2DmvWe1Xk
http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=CSQkDmEtGns
I use MULLER and BECKER ignition modules for single and twins engines, but those modules were very hard to find lasts years.
I found a shop in west France where we can buy now BECKER ignition modules with electronic timing advance ( ZA XX V series) , for singles, twins (and radial engines end year 2008 )
Those modules are ideal for magnetic to electronic ignition conversion at low weight
If anyone is interessed, I can help !
Bests regards fro France,
Oliver

Good video,s!! What do you do on the 4 cycle engines for oil? Also have you tried many fuel mixtures to see what is best? Thanks Capt,n

Hello Capt'
The methanol based fuel is the same as glow ignition, because of conrod sleeves bearings.
Nitromethane is no more necessary.
Safe idle down to 1300 rpm
Instant starting
When you try spark ignition you forget glows !
Oliver
O.S FT120II, O.S FT160, O.S FT240, all converted to spark ignition !

Hi JeffH,
The is one shop in France, near LA ROCHELLE where you can buy this ignitions.
I think I'm not allowed to tell you on this forum, so send me a private mail to : [email protected]
And I will tell you adress an phone of this French shop.
The german manufacturer ( Ing. Horst BECKER ) has no website, an no more online shop. Whenever it's one of the best ignition manufacturer in Europe, he is working actually with SEIDEL Factory on Radial electronic ignition systems.
Regards,
oliver

Hi Jeff,
>Tell us how and where to get these ignitions? I have several glow engines I want to try and convert
I'm afraid that this will be very expensive regarding Euro VS USD ......

Hi All,
A new video about a new 4 stroke O.S FS 200 Surpass converted to électronic ignition, BECKER module & RIMFIRE VR2 Spark plug :

Hi, Do you use methanol or gasoline? what type oil and at what ratio? I am considering converting a Mark 210 to spark ign. but am concerned about the plain bearings on the piston rod ends.

Hi,
Methanol based fuel with at least 18 % synthetics lubricants is kept because of the sleeves bearing conrod.
Methanol engines converted to spark ignition benefits : very low idle, more power on all rpm range, low consumption ( nearly - 15%), no more nitromethane necessary.
