M-m-m-ax-ax-ax-he-he-he-d-d-d-d ro-ro-ro-m-m-m. You date yourself. Avery nice, clean, compact little engine. Insulated carb block too. Hang on to it. If it's a Sears, parts for it at Sears Parts.com forever.

Probably a bit heavy for sport flying. You could convert to EI and use it on a Cub. I imagine you will need a pusher prop since it rotates backwards. Look at the spark coil. There is an arrow indicating direction it spins.

Since this apears to be a piston port engine and not a rotary valve I think it could turn in either direction as long as the ignition timing is attended to.

This engine is a reed induction. But if a CDI was used or gas/glow it could run in either direction im sure. But as Ram Jet said if the timing was changed it could run.But if you even lost 8 OZ by losing the flywheel and using somthing else and lost about 4 OZ by gutting the muffler youd still have a 3+ LB -21cc engine. That is not good except for floater planes.

Thanks Guys I guess the $30 I paid was a waste. After your answers and trying to figure out the weight issue for my application and how i would even get carb linkage to work .
Bottom line its to big for my 72 in wingspan edge 540 t.. Probably end up selling it
Thanks Paul

Well its not really a waste its just not good for that plane. It would be an excellent plane on a cub, somthing with a narrow cowl. For instance a nitro-planes Tigermoth. There was a person on ebay a while back, quite a while.Sold one of these but i think it was the 31cc wich i would check your bore and see what size it is in MMs.If its around 20 then its a 21,around 30 its a 31.Anyway,the person only put a prop hub on the front of flywheel and got about $78.00 for it.Even with clockwise rotation.
1) You could try and change the timing easily.Bring the piston up to TDC.then mark where the magnets are on the fins,or just remember about what position they are in.
2) Then remove the flywheel and keyway.
3)Then reinstall the flywheel with out the keyway and put the magnets about where they were on the other side of coil but in about the same position as before.
Ive never done it but it might work.
