Default RE: Poulan 25cc on Four Star 120 questions

I had a good day of flying.
In the last few days I enlarged the ports and manifolds sightly, and I found out how to adapt a carb with a 14mm exit bore (the original had a 12mm bore). This carb was off a 28cc Craftsman blower and only has one needle which makes it easy to tune and doesn't have the primer bulb. All this only increased the rpm a couple 100 rpm, but the idle very smooth and low. I went to the field with a new MA 16x8 which only was turning 6800 compared to the 16x6 at 7300, but thrust calculator says I should get about 10 mph faster. The prop makes all the difference in getting it airborn and climbing. I plan to look for an APC 16x8 also. I still need to go full throttle most of the time, but it climbs and behaves much better. I had 3 good flight for a total of about 30 minutes. One thing I notice is that when I dive the engines starts sputtering and doesn't seem to rev any faster. Any ideas on that?
The WT263 I ordered from
http://stores.shop.ebay.com/A-PLUS-S...__W0QQ_armrsZ1
(good price and cheap shipping) just arrived and I plan to try that out. go It has a 16mm bore, but 2 needles to fuss with.[X(]

I just thought I would update everyone. I've put about 20 flights on the plane in the last couple months, and am quite pleased with it.
I did put the WT263 on it and it runs better each time I fly it. It's turning a MA 16x8 at just over 7200 and idles real nice to about 2000. I still run it mostly wide open, but it will do most of what I want it to. It balanced right on and is quite fun to fly. I've noticed other 4star 120's at the field and mine is a bit slower but acceptable for now. Thanks to everyone who has given me advise.

It looks like the conversion has found a home and looks really good tucked up in there. I really like your Powered by Poulan decal. Did you make it or where can I get one?

Thanks,

Bill
