Hi, re your conversion of the husky, we had our annual Canada Day Fun Fly yesterday and one of the guests was flying a laser 200(?) with a 5.6 HP husky in it. What a sight!!Unlimited vertical at about 3/4 throttle. I don't know who he was but I intend to contact him because I want to convert a 70cc Stihl chainsaw as well. It is sporting 5.5 HP. I'll try to keep you posted. Please let me know if you have heard of this one.
Thanks

Don't quote me but If I remember correctly, the guy was throwing a 24 or 26 inch prop. I could only guess at the pitch. But like I say, I am going to contact him and get the particulars

I coulden't wait for an answer so I just mountet the crankcase together with the gasket and started to tighen the screws one by one in crossorder. No problem so far just need to call my old workpals so they can start the lathe on the flywheel.
On this flywheel I have one question or more on the shape of it. I'm thinking of make it about 30-40 mm in diameter and bolt it with the M8 nut that came along. Drill and thread 4 pcs M5 and 2 positionholes and insert 2 cylindrical pins for guidence. Have another part made in the lathe for mounting the propeller in with the correct fitt to the flywheel.

My Feedback: (4)
No large flywheel is necessary...You can make a small hub, 2 inches or so, with the tapered bore and hold it on with the 8mm nut..Embed the magnet for the ignition in the bottom or side and make a bracket for the sensor, set for 28 BTDC..Then you bolt a prop hub onto this with 2 or 3 or 4 Allen bolts..the small hub can be 6061 aluminum, but for the other hub with the prop bolt in it, 2024 aluminum is stronger and will last longer....

The old runtronic system I have says 35 degress after TDC but this I think is no problem at all. I'm not keen on makeing a new hub with a tapered bore because it also has a woodroof insert (don't know the english word) and it's in steel not aluminium. My thought was to put the flywheel in the lathe and mill it down but there was magnets and other strange things so it just to make a drawing and call my friends on my old work. Need to remember to insert helicoil threads in every hole. Mayby making a new nut with heilcoil threads also not because it's fancy it's just a security precausion.
