Default saito 80 conversion to gas

hi,
so I am very new to 4 strokes and will be converting a saito 80 to gas.
I am a student and doing this to get a better understanding about engines so one day I can use my machines to build my own.

can anyone direct me to a place to buy electronic ignition?
I am looking for the cheapest possible, or maybe a member has one they dont need and can help me out?

looking forward to learning more about all this!

that looks like my saito well it is.

you have any pics of the mounting of the magnet and sensor?

I need to give the engine a good cleaning.
questions.

- the piston top pin, what is it made out of? looks like some plastic?
- the cylinder appears to have the finish worn, is their anything that I could do to fix this.
has anyone ever tried to sleeve a engine? with cast iron?

the piston side of the connecting rod is made of metal i assume steel and has some plastic caps that keep it from marring the cylinder wall

You can also go on youtube & type in just about any 4 cycle engine & see one running. Give it a go. Capt,n

Thanks Capt, have done that but what I like to know is FA 80 specifically. Ive got the conversion kit from CH ignition and it runs but seems to loose power aft mid throttle, could be engine faulty and have sent it for repair. The other thing I would like to know is how stable can it run for the long run, I've got black carbon gg back into the tank and also engine very hot, will using the original carb spoils the carb in the long run or is it ok? anybody out there with successful conversion contribution will be so much appreciated ! thanks
