Default Ryobi 31cc flywheel

I broke a fin on my Ryobi 31cc flywheel. Where can I get a flywheel, and where can I get it shaved down?

I usually break all the fins off with pliers

Then I use a Die grinder with a carbide cutter and smoth it off

I balance the flywheel using a Dubrio prop balancer and shave more metal off the heavy side with the air powered die grinder.

I just took 4 of them off of conversion candidates this morning. Pay for the shipping and I'll send them all to you with mags also.

w8ye: What kind of shaft do you use to place the flywheel in the balancer? Pix? I have one and was trying to figure out how to get the flywheel to rotate in the balancer.

Thanx.

Mike

I do the same thing, what I do is take the stationary cone and put that at the small part of the taper, for the other side I either use the cone backward or with an aluminum washer between it and the flywheel

When you get a new flywheel you got to remember not all ryobi flywheels are the same. there is a narrow key and a wide key flywheel. one uses the half moon key and the other type has the key cast into the flywheel. also there are flywheels made by phelon and some mace by walbro. why is that important to note? Because they have different timming in them depending on who made them and you need the coil that matches that timming. so now the question is: What flywheel do you have?????
