Delrin for carb adapter??

I have some partially converted Stihl engines I want to finish up. They have the "spigot" style carb intakes on the cylinder like the Poulan 46cc. I have some Delrin I could use to make up carb adapter manifolds. Does anyone have actual experience doing this? Will the Delrin hold up, or will it melt?

Thanks,
AV8TOR

At one time I made a delrin reed valve rear housing for my Ryobi test project. It worked just fine.

When CH did the Poulan 46 we used a Delrin intake. It would distort under high heat. We ended up with a 2 piece intake. An aluminum part that attached to the spigot and then a Delein donut as a heat dam. The Delrin spacer was under compression loads and worked fine

Hmmm, that's what I was worried about with the Delrin. You wouldn't happen to have any pics would you Terry?

Thanks,

The nice thing about Delrin is the fact it loses it about the time your engine is getting into trouble.
If the temps are high enough to cause problems with the manifold you have other issues to concern yourself about.
