Ignition Coil Wire Broken

1 Attachment(s)
Hello everyone.

I know this forum is for convertions, but I just been given a FUJI BT 50cc, which is almost a weedeater engine.

Is the one with Magneto ignition, but the wire which connects to the plug cap is broken, so theres no spark. and there are no replancement ignition coils for this engine anymore.

Is there anyway to fix this wire??....Or can I use an adapt the ignition coil of a Weedeater to it.

I know another option would be to convert it to EI, but I would rather prefer to maintain the magneto as I could use the extra weight on this specific plane.

Thanks anyone for any advice.....
Oddy

Perhaps leave existing hardware in place and add a CDI unit.

Take a look at the flywheel for any markings such as mfr, part number, etc.t
It could be a "standard" wico or walbro. Then maybe you could match up a coil from another engine using that flywheel

Fuji was made from production engine parts, right? Good luck.

Some coil wire just screw in, have you tried unscrewing the broken wire? Many sources for replacement wire with connector for your selected sparkplug

Yes. I would be trying to dig the original plug wire out of the coil, (carefully), and trying to splice on a new coil wire. Then coat that area with a thick layer of silicone glue and let it set up thoroughly. It can't hurt to try...
