if one 40CC conversions engine with E-ignition ,and less 4oz weight then zenoah 26 , but get 40% more power , what price are ok?

long 15.9cm
high 12.7cm from center to spark plug
19.4 cm from carb to muffler

we use JXF prop( NX PROP IN CHINA)

17x7 8020 RPM
18x8 7450 RPM
18x10 7400 RPM
20x8 6450 RPM
20x10 6230 RPM

thrust about 8.5kg use 20x8 wood prop

this engine are not full break in ,

RE: how much you will pay for it?

I think if you could keep the price to $250.00 US dollars or less, you could likely sell all that you could produce. Price should be with electronic ignition and a decent light-weight muffler.

RE: how much you will pay for it?

This I gotta see, a 40cc engine that weighs 2 lbs 4 oz and works better than a G26, and will sell for less..Another 55 extreme ?
Wait till some distributor gets it, the price will skyrocket...:D

40% more power???? Yeh sure,,, mabey on nitros oxide.........

tomyrcmodels 03-15-2004 10:54 PM

40% more power only use nomore gas fuel

I tested my engine and it can sway 20-8 wood prop over 6400rpm , that mean about 19.8lb stastic thrust , but G26 can get only 14lb thrust . that way I said this engine has 40% more power than G26. If change to 17-8 prop(wood) , the rpm will over 8000!!

A good Q35 will turn those numbers with those props. What are the numbers with an 18-8?

Tomy: I am interested in your engines. Please post all the data you can. Thanks Capt,n P.S. I sent you a privite email.;)

RE: how much you will pay for it?

If the 19.8 lbs thrust is from the ThrustHp chart, forget it, it's way high..
MY G26 tested with at Mejzlik 18-6 and Abell muffler at 9000 gets 17.5 lbs thrust with a scale on the tail wheel..
Put yours on a plane with that 20-8 at 6400 and see what a spring scale reads...

RE: how much you will pay for it?

9000 RPM...you might have had it at a lean setting to get that power. If left lean to long, engine goes bye- bye fast. Maybe that thin air out there lets the prop slip more. Ha!

Really ? Tell me more..I have only been repairing these engines for 17 years, maybe my education has been neglected..
Do you HAVE a G26 ?

RE: how much you will pay for it?

I know RCIGN is one of the best engine and machnist around, but I am just saying a engine peaked out for a top RPM and left there may not be the best for that engine,s life. New RC,ers may ruin good engines that way.

RE: how much you will pay for it?

Sorry, John, 9000 is not peak rpm for a G23 or G26..
Check out Bruce Hanson's web site, he has many records set with the G23 and G26..
Maybe HE could use some of your sage advice :D

RE: how much you will pay for it?

I have read many many posts since the G26 was first talked about online. More RC,ers wanted to know how that much rpm was obtained. A lot of RC,ers said the G26 did not do as well??? [sm=sunsmiley.gif]

RE: how much you will pay for it?

I have converted at least 20, all ran 8800 or better...The stock muffler cuts rpm to 8200..No muffler, 9000..Slimline Pitts, 8500, Abell, 8800..Changing altitude to 1000 feet makes no difference...I'm going to Phoenix Sunday, will tach a few more props....The Mejzlik 18-6 is the prop used for the tests, others turn slower...
A lot of RC'ers say that Zenoahs can't be hand started either, doesn't mean they won't....[sm=bananahead.gif]

RE: how much you will pay for it?

Your Right ....my Zenoah G38 will hand start just using a leather glove very easy. I have the spring start for it and never used it. I wish it was not so darn heavy thow. It will probably outlast me.[:-] Going to the Toledo expo and look at every engine there if possible. Nice place to see lots of neat stuff!

Slow server, takes forever to lead the player, looks just like any other engine to me...
I ran out of patience after the first one, it was showing 7800 rpm but no prop size...

RE: 40CC engine testing runing movie and fly movie

I tried it around 10 my time and figured the server was slow and went on to other subjects

If the 7800 was with the 20-8 and it sells for less than $300 it will do good....

RE: 40CC engine testing runing movie and fly movie

I got all the clips to open, but it took awhile. One clip showed the engine flying a Gee Bee of some type. Looked to be pretty powerful, but don't know how much the flying wt was. The engine was quiet, but had a bulky steel muffler.

RE: GEE BEE weight

this plane (GEE BEE)weight about 7.2kg(with out fuel) , so take off weight about 7.5kg(16.5lb)

RE: GEE BEE weight

Tomy: Please post few photos of this engine in a jepeg format so all of us can see this engine. I cannot even guess what it looks like. Thanks John
